Events with 64 entries or fewer are a straight single-elimination knockout. Events with more than 64 entries start with round-robin groups of 3 or 4, and every entry plays at least 2 matches; the top 2 in each group go through to the Main Draw and the rest are eliminated.
At 29-all in the group stage the next point wins. The group format may be shortened if there are too many groups to fit the schedule.
Open to all nationalities. Play your own age group or an older one. Bring photo ID to every match. Full-time national players are not eligible. No Open events this year.
Seeding follows the SBA National Ranking as of 6 Dec 2026. The Tournament Referee decides the number of seeds in each event, and draws lots where players have the same ranking points. This is a non-sanctioned tournament: no ranking points are awarded.
Any coach may sit in the coach’s chair; NROC certification is not required. Anyone in the chair must wear long pants and covered shoes. One coach per side, and coaching only while the shuttle is not in play.
Champion, runner-up and each joint third. Prize money may be reduced in events with fewer than 16 entries.
The latest schedule is always on this page. The organiser is not obliged to tell players about changes, so check daily from 19 Dec. Times and order of play may be changed by the Tournament Referee and the organiser, and end times are approximate.
Matches are not rescheduled because of a clash with another event. Make sure the player is fully available 26–31 Dec before registering.
An event needs at least 8 entries to run. If it has fewer, the organiser may combine it with the next age group up or cancel it with a full refund. Players cannot decline a merged event. With fewer than 16 entries, the organising committee may scrap the event or reduce the prize money.
No refunds for withdrawals, walkovers, retirements, missing entries or ineligibility. The only full refund is when the organiser cancels an event.
It is each player’s responsibility to check that their entry has been accepted. Late entries may not be accepted and are considered case by case. The published entry list is your confirmation.
The Organising Committee may amend the terms in the prospectus at its sole discretion without prior notice. The prospectus has the full conditions of play, withdrawals, photography and data terms.
